Play spaces designed for how kids actually grow

Founded by educators. Built for real family life — mess, risk, and joy included.

Kids need a place to make a mess

Somewhere they can climb, build, dump, knock over, start again. Without anyone telling them to stop. That kind of freedom is where confidence is built and self-regulation is practiced.

Groh was founded by educators for this exact reason. We design the spaces and sell the pieces that go in them, with details only a classroom teaches: what makes a fall feel safe, how high a shelf should sit, what a child reaches for first.

So your child gets a room that says yes. And you get the rest of your house back.

Two WAYS TO BRING GROH HOME

Start with the whole room or one perfect piece.

  • Modern playroom featuring a sensory swing next to an indoor climbing wall.

    Studio

Custom design, start to finish. From streamlined four-week turnarounds to fully bespoke spaces, we design the room around your family, your home, and your child.

  • Shop

Every piece in the Groh Shop has lived inside a Groh design. Climbers, shelves, soft goods, open-ended play — the same pieces we put in custom projects, available to ship to your door. Build the playroom yourself, or book a Concierge Session to shop and plan together.

What families are saying

"Our screen time has come down almost to zero because they're just so excited to get home and spend those few hours downstairs."

- Groh Studio Client

"My daughter who's four is very climby and it's been so amazing to see her gain her confidence. She'll just go right up to the ceiling and be like, 'Look mom, I'm on the ceiling.' My six-year-old doesn't even do that. It's been really rewarding to see her physical development and the confidence that comes with that."

- Groh Shop Customer

"We didn't get use out of all of our toys because they were hiding in plain sight. Now there's a lot more structure and intention behind where everything is placed and why it's out."

- Groh Studio Client

"The foam pit — I wasn't thinking it was going to be this epic. I was thinking it was going to be more like the little baby ball pit thing we had. Whenever our friends are over, we're always using it. And you just see kids challenging themselves."

- Groh Studio Client

"You all understood the assignment from day one. When you showed me the design, I was just like, this is exactly what my family needed."

- Groh Studio Client

"This room was sad. It had dreams of being a playroom but it didn't have the execution to get there."

A few things parents ask

What's the difference between the Shop and Studio?

The Shop is the same collection we use inside our custom Studio designs, available to buy and arrange in your own space. Studio is the full custom design experience — we design the room around your family and manage everything from floor plan to install.

Do we need a dedicated room?

No. Most Groh spaces are designed into corners, basements, finished attics, and shared bedrooms. The design works around your real home.

What does it cost?

Shop pieces are available across many price points. Studio design services start at $16,500 and scale with the size of your space and level of involvement.

Can I shop without a designer?

Yes — every piece stands on its own. If you want a second set of expert eyes on your space before you buy, the Shop Concierge is $500 (credited back toward a $2,500+ purchase).

What ages is this for?

Spaces and products are designed for children from infancy through the early teens, with elements built to grow alongside your child.

How long does it take?

Shop orders ship in various timelines depending on the product. Studio projects range from our almost instant pre-designed Capsule rooms to four weeks for our streamlined Pronto service up to five to seven months for a fully bespoke build.

What if my child has additional needs?

We work with families whose children have autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and other developmental considerations. We can review therapy documentation or coordinate with your child's therapist as part of the design process.
