How Many Climbing Holds Do I Need?
Our recommendation is:
- 1 pack of holds per climbing panel
- 75 Hold Variety Pack: 4–6 panels
- 120 Hold Variety Pack: 6–8 panels
- 150 Hold Variety Pack: 8–10 panels
Many families intentionally install fewer holds than available to create challenge and flexibility while keeping additional holds available for future route changes.
Installation Guide
- Select the correct bolt: Use a 2" bolt for standard holds and a 2½" bolt for larger, deeper holds.
- Position the hold: Place the hold at the desired T-nut location and carefully align the bolt.
- Thread carefully: If you feel resistance during the first few turns, stop, remove the bolt, realign, and try again. Never force the bolt.
- Tighten securely: Using the included T-wrench, tighten until the hold is fully seated, then tighten an additional ¼–½ turn. Do not overtighten.
- Check each hold: Confirm every hold is secure and does not rotate or wobble. Apply firm pressure in multiple directions before use.
- Test your route: Check spacing, transitions, and difficulty, then reposition holds as needed for your climber.
- Recheck regularly: Inspect holds and hardware for looseness, rotation, wear, or damage before use.

Tip: Climbing holds are designed to be rearranged! Add, remove, rotate, or reposition holds over time to create new routes and adjust the level of challenge.
