Every child develops differently, but many children begin using monkey bars with assistance during the preschool years and continue enjoying them well into adolescence. Adult supervision is recommended, and children should only engage in activities appropriate for their skill level.

Monkey bars support gross motor development by encouraging climbing, hanging, swinging, and coordinated movement. These activities help build upper body strength, grip strength, core stability, coordination, balance, and body awareness.

Weight limits vary by installation conditions and mounting structure. Please refer to the product specifications and installation guide before use.

When installed properly according to manufacturer instructions and used as intended, Monkey Bars can be a valuable active play tool. We recommend installation by a licensed contractor and appropriate adult supervision during use.

One of the biggest advantages of Monkey Bars is their flexibility. They can be incorporated into compact spaces, large playrooms, custom climbing walls, bedrooms, and more. We do not recommend installing Monkey Bars on ceiling heights above 9'.

Yes. Mounting hardware is included with your purchase.

Yes to both! Monkey Bars can be installed on walls to create climbing ladders, access points to lofts and forts, or supportive handholds for climbing structures. Many families also install Monkey Bars on ceilings to create traditional overhead climbing experiences similar to those found on playgrounds.

Monkey Bars can be installed on CMU, Concrete, or studs. Wood screws are included, but you may need to buy screws depending on the type of wall or ceiling you are mounting to. You CANNOT install on brick or rock veneer.

You will need to consult with a general contractor in order to create a structurally sound, external surface to install your monkey bars.

For most applications, we recommend spacing Monkey Bars approximately 12 inches apart.

We always recommend fall attenuation. The Groh! Shop recommends a 6' (six foot) minimum perimeter around active play products for maximum falling or dismounting clearance. For ceiling heights less than 9', safety mats are sufficient. Safety mats are sold separately and available in The Groh Shop for purchase.

Monkey Bars are designed to be DIY-friendly and can be successfully installed by many homeowners. However, because proper installation requires secure attachment to structural supports, we strongly recommend using an experienced, licensed, and insured contractor. Whoever installs the product should carefully follow the installation instructions provided.
